Sports day 2017 was a fun-filled afternoon of blood, sweat and tear as the MD1s and MD2s battled it out on the AFL field for both glory and bragging rights for the rest of the year. But the action wasn’t just on the field - an 80s sports themed dress up and cheering from the rest of the cohorts on the sidelines ensured there was entertainment for all. While the MD1s fought hard, MD2 emerged victorious after what was a cracking game played by both sides. For those who weren’t content with just displaying their might on the football field, a halftime tug’o’war victory was also taken by MD2, after what we can safely say was one of the longest tug’o’war battles of all time.
The festivities carried on for post-game drinks and food at the tavern, before keen partygoers continued on into the city for post game (and post exam) celebrations at the Griffins in the city. A great time was had by all – but now the challenge is on for the MD1s to reclaim their glory over next years intake!
